August at Pembroke Wines & Spirits

Here's to more snow!

While we all wait for a bit more snow, why not join us for a little wine tasting? We've decided to fill August with visits from some of our favourite wine and spirit producers, so take a look through our series of 'Free Friday' tastings and block out your calendars. Don't forget to bring your best snow dance!

If you're a fan of sake, or want to get into it, look no further than Pembroke Wines Wānaka for the first and only tasting flight in town! Find out more below.

And if you just loved being dry this July and are thinking you'll carry it on - good on you! Don't forget we've got your back with plenty of non-alcoholic options in store all year-round, from beers to cocktails.

We're having a busy winter so far with lots of birthday celebrations and private events in our tasting room, so be sure to book your spot.

Friday, August 4, 4:30 - 6:30pm

Meet Bernie from Rifters Distillery in Arrowtown. He'll share the Rifters story and a few free tasters of this amazing gin, handcrafted in New Zealand using flavourful botanicals and pure New Zealand artesian water.

Friday, August 11, 4:30 - 6:30pm

This week, we'll be joined by Hazledine Brothers Wine. Sandy and Ket will share their story along with free tasters of their new vintages of chardonnay and pinot noir, right from the heart of Wānaka.

Friday, August 18, 4:30 - 6:30pm

Enjoy a Friday evening with Kit from Moonlight Mile in Nelson. A trained brewer and distiller looking for his favourite new thing, Kit will be introducing this young vineyard's new vintages of pinot blanc, chardonnay and pinot noir.

Friday, August 25, 4:30 - 6:30pm

Let's end the month with a surprise! Keep an eye on our social media pages for an info on who our final mystery guest will be. You won't be disappointed!

Pyramid Valley & Lowburn Ferry

Enjoy this free tasting of South Island wines! Meet Dan from Pyramid Valley - home of biodynamic wines born in the dramatic soils and slopes of the Waikari Estate in North Canterbury and the Manata Estate in Central Otago - and Smith and Steph from Lowburn Ferry. Lowburn Ferry produces two Pinot Noir from the exceptional vineyards of this region. Come along to taste wine from all three vineyards.

News from our bottle shop & lounge bar

Sake, sake and more sake!

Pembroke Wines is proud to offer a unique sake tasting experience, right here in Wānaka. We are dedicating our first sake tasting flight to Zenkuro Sake, New Zealand’s only sake brewery, based in Queenstown. Best enjoyed together with friends, family and your favourite food, the purity of Zenkuro ingredients allow them to hand-craft a unique style of sake with well balanced flavours, gentle umami and delicate aromas.

Come and taste four of their outstanding Sakes – Drip Pressed Shizuku Shibori Junmai Ginjo; Wakatipu Sleeping Giant Junmai Ginjo; 'White Cloud' Nigori Junmai; and Plum Sake.

And a special food accompaniment suggestion from us to you: this flight goes fantastically with our smoked mussels platter or cold-smoked wakame salmon.
